Megan – Lead Vocals, Harmonies, Counter Fit Wardrobe Consultant
Music has always been a part of my life. I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t singing along with the radio. My dad had been in several bands when he was younger, and he used to set up his guitar and microphone in his living room and play while my sister and I sang. My mom sang to us often when we were kids, and I remember watching her sing in the church choir and wanting so badly to be up there singing with her.
I had my first true performance at church when I was 12 years old. My mom had heard me singing Mary Did You Know, and she told the band director at the church he needed to hear me sing. I sang it for him, and a few weeks later I was singing it up on the stage! In that moment I fell in love with singing and performing, and I haven’t stopped since.
I sang mostly in choirs through middle school and high school, and was in advanced choirs most of the time as well. In addition to choirs, I also auditioned and performed in several musicals including The Music Man and Singin’ in the Rain, as well as a few less popular ones.
My background in music started mostly with country and showtunes, but over my lifetime I have come to find that there aren’t many genres that I don’t really enjoy singing. I love the powerful vocals of rock and the sultry vocals of blues. I think what I love the most is getting the chance to use my voice in different ways, and that’s what is so amazing about this band. We don’t have a specific sound, we do it all, which speaks volumes to the abilities of every person involved. Come check us out and see for yourself!
